E-SENS AS4 at CEBIT
e-SENS (Electronic Simple European Networked Services) aims at developing solutions for a harmonised allocation of public services in the EU Member States. By supplying technical solutions like e-ID, e-Delivery, Semantics, e-Signature and the testing software MINDER to optimise the mobility of citizens and businesses in the European Single Market.
Travelling, doing business or living abroad often involves administrative procedures. e-SENS facilitates cross-border processes within the EU by:
- making it easier for companies to set up business electronically
- enabling electronic procurement procedures for businesses
- creating seamless access to EU legal systems
- making it easier to use healthcare services abroad in cases of emergency
e-SENS adopts the technical solutions from former LSPs like e-CODEX, epSOS and STORK to enable a seamless communication between the Member States. Hence, the 22 participating States have agreed with the European Commission to conduct cross-border data transmission in all areas of public administration mainly by using the e-SENS/AS4 standard, which is also supported by notable IT businesses and North Rhine-Westphalia with its e-Delivery Gateway DOMIBUS.
