IBM Sterling Integrator for Superstream

The Australian SuperStream reform is designed to enhance the ‘back office’ of the superannuation system. Industry savings will allow benefits to flow to members and employers in the form of lower fees and charges and improved services. The Australian Government mandated the SuperStream initiative for the Superannuation industry. These initiatives are designed to make superannuation simpler for Australian people, and the industry easier to do business with.

Sterling B2B Integrator enables the secure integration of complex B2B processes with diverse partner communities.  Sterling Integrator is designed as a simple, yet highly configurable solution that removes dependencies on a particular administration system while still delivering robust security and ease of use.

The solution comprises two core components, XBRL and AS4/ebMS :
  • XBRL – this component is the translation engine and converts non-XBRL messages to XBRL, and vice versa. It deals with the payload component of the new data and payment standards and transforms XBRL inbound and outbound messages ready for digestion by back office systems.
  • AS4/ebMS 3.0 – this component is the messaging system. It deals with the delivery of messages between systems using SOAP based webservices. It conforms to all of the relevant SuperStream profiles.
