Auto/Mate, Inc has been in the automotive data processing business for over 25 years. It provides a fully integrated in-house computer system designed exclusively for automobile dealerships. According to NADA Survey of Dealership System Providers the Auto/Mate ranked No. 1. in customer satisfaction, No. 1 in “would recommend to other dealers” and No. 1. in “effectiveness of training”. Auto/Mate has more than 200 installations ranging in size from small rural stores to mega dealerships with multiple stores; Three to four new installations are made per month.

A case study is provided by Webswell Inc. that describes a system to provide stock information updates between car dealerships and a car maker using ebXML Messages, via the Auto/Mate hub. Customer systems are integrated with the car maker's systems and interchange business data automatically or semi-automatically. The benefits are that communication is more robust yet secure.

In April 2006, the project was in the phase of deployment of production environment.
