Drummond Group Inc., the trusted global interoperability test lab, announced today that registration is now open for the first Drummond Certified™ AS4 Interoperability test specifically created for the Australian superannuation industry’s project named SuperStream. The Australian Government is adopting AS4 as the messaging standard for all B2G and G2G data exchange and SuperStream is the first case where AS4 is mandated.

The Australian Superannuation industry handles citizen's retirement benefits, with ~1.3T$AU under management and contribution being mandatory. Following a review of the industry, the government has decided on a number of reforms, including the moving to electronic data and payment exchange (as opposed to the current cheque and paper). It is thus mandating data, messaging and payment standards which will be introduced in a three year staged rollout.

Members of the OASIS ebXML Messaging Services TC [1] have recently approved a Special Majority Ballot [2] to advance "AS4 Profile of ebMS 3.0 Version 1.0" as a Candidate OASIS Standard (COS). The COS now enters a 60-day public review period in preparation for a member ballot to consider its approval as an OASIS Standard.

The OASIS Energy Interoperation (EI) Version 1.0 technical specification defines EI Services and Operations, XML, Service and Operation payloads and Service operation interaction patterns. Energy Interoperation payloads can be exchanged using WSDL-based SOAP messages. For interoperability, any use of networking technologies should be profiled and standardized.
